Packaging Materials are classified into two main categories :

Void-filling (space filler)                                                                                                                                                                    

Void fill is what you use to fill up excess space in your package, and to protect your product from damage during the shipping process.

Cushioning (product protection)

Package cushioning is used to help protect fragile items during shipment. It is usually inside a shipping container such as a corrugated box and designed to deform or crush to help keep levels of shock and vibration below levels that may damage the product inside the box.
